Portable Compressors
What is a portable compressor?
A mobile compressor is a wheeled or portable compressed-air machine powered by a diesel engine, making it completely independent of an electrical outlet. You can tow or drive it to the job site, start the diesel engine, and immediately have compressed air available for pneumatic tools, hammer drills, demolition tools, or pipe cleaning.
Portable compressors are rated in liters per second (l/s) or cubic meters per minute (m³/min) of free air delivery. The operating pressure is typically between 7 and 14 bar, depending on the model and application.
Kaeser Portable Compressors
SK Compressor Service is an official Kaeser dealer and supplies the entire Kaeser MOBILAIR series. MOBILAIR compressors are known for their reliability on demanding construction sites, their fuel-efficient Stage V diesel engines, and their low maintenance costs.
From a compact single-person unit with a capacity of 63 l/s to a heavy-duty construction site machine with a capacity of 1,275 l/s: we’ll help you choose the model that best suits your needs and deliver it fully equipped.
QUESTIONS ABOUT PORTABLE COMPRESSORS
What is a portable compressor?
A mobile compressor is a wheeled or portable compressed-air compressor powered by a diesel engine, making it completely independent of the power grid. You simply set it up at the worksite, start the engine, and immediately have compressed air available for pneumatic tools, hammer drills, or other on-site applications.
Can I rent a portable compressor from SK Compressor Service?
Yes. SK Compressor Service rents out portable diesel compressors for both short- and long-term use. Delivery is often possible within 24 hours, anywhere in the Netherlands. Please contact us for availability, capacity, and rental rates.
What is the difference between a portable compressor and a stationary compressor?
A portable compressor runs on diesel and is mobile, making it suitable for locations without an electrical connection. A stationary compressor runs on electricity and is designed for permanent installation in a production facility or workshop. For temporary on-site projects, you’ll almost always opt for a portable diesel compressor.
What capacity do you need for your application?
The required capacity depends on the number and type of connections. A single drilling rig requires approximately 10–15 l/s; multiple heavy-duty machines operating simultaneously can require more than 100 l/s. SK Compressor Service offers free advice on the right size for your project. Contact us for personalized advice.
Are portable compressors environmentally friendly?
Modern portable compressors, such as the Kaeser MOBILAIR series, are equipped with Stage V-certified diesel engines. Stage V is the strictest European emissions standard for portable machinery and significantly reduces emissions of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides compared to older engine generations.
Does SK Compressor Service also perform maintenance on portable compressors?
Yes. We perform preventive maintenance and repairs on portable compressors, including those from brands other than Kaeser. We respond quickly to breakdowns and use genuine parts. Please contact us to schedule a maintenance appointment or set up a service contract.
